All technical aspects of high-end mountain riding.
In depth Avalanche Awareness & Mountain Safety
Analysis of risk assessment and associated route planning
Prior experience of off-piste skiing is required for this course.
Course Times: 09h00-12h00 & 13h00-16h00
The perfect compliment for trainee instructors working their way through the BASI system.
Morning Sessions
Overall off-piste technique on open faces. Understanding the mechanics of skiing when riding non-pisted areas.
Get the adrenaline pumping whilst launching down some of the steepest pitches in the area.
Route finding and safety on rocks and ridges.
Limited visibility and treeline skiing.
Individual technical analysis and development.
Afternoon Sessions
Transceiver training, single and multiple burial scenarios.
Snow analysis, snow pits and slope risk assessment techniques.
Information gathering and application, reading the weather, local climates.
Escape and evasion techniques.
Emergency, rescue and survival situations.
