Mother Nature lays down the law!
The weather forecast for this week is in itself looking
extreme;
A series of fronts bringing heavy snowfalls, violent
winds and dense cloud cover....not the best conditions
to hold a night time freeride event.
Therefore, time to pay the mountain some
respect

event of the season! |

This event, the only one of its kind in France is being
organised by Evolution 2, in partnership with Oakley and CoreUpt. |
|
Under a perfect full moon, 20 of the best
French freeriders will confront each other in the Tufs
Couloirs. Led by the 4 times world freeride world
champion, Guerlain Chicherit, (Tignes is his home turf),
the riders will launch themselves into the steep, narrow
and untracked couloirs known as ‘the fingers’. |

Santa
drops in by parapente to say hi to the
children
|
A surprise for the
children on Christmas day was the arrival of Santa
dropping in on a parapente.
Hot chocolate and sweets were available for children
of all ages.
A great opportunity for the parents to meet and chat
with the Evolution 2 instructors while the children
were entertained by Father Christmas. |

marketing and management teams from technical-wear
manufacturer Berghaus held their start of season seminar
at the Evolution 2
Wilderness Camp. |

Infantry Race Training
|
The Infantry Race Training Camp came
to a thrilling climax with the final race being the
downhill.
Despite their current heavy workload, 6 regiments
were able to send a team.
|

All troops underwent five weeks of intense ski and
race training.
16 soldiers started the course as complete beginners
and all competed in the final downhill race.
A credit to the commitment of the racers and the
dedication of the Evolution 2 coaches. |

its 2009 season.
This year promises to be one of the best with over 100
riders competing on the tour
Each two day event, this year visiting ten different
Alpine and Pyrenean resorts, is split into four or five
timed runs on a variety of the best Freeride slopes. |

During November 2008
Evolution 2 Ski
School are organizing 4 weeks of specialist race
training. The courses are aimed at trainee
instructors preparing for the Eurotest. |

The courses are free for instructors registered with
either the Tignes or Val d'Isère
ski schools. There is a charge for instructors from
other ski schools. |
|
Training will commence on the Grande Motte glacier
and depending on snow conditions, the

Following the success of the Wilderness
Camp last season, work is well underway to add further
facilities to the site. This year we have added a second 60m2 Yurt to
enable us to accommodate around 100 adventurers
for our wilderness soirées. |
|
With aperitifs around the log
fire, the camp also features a wood-fired hot
tub, a Tyrolean death-slide, Blackfoot tribe
tepees, views across Mont Blanc and the Lac du
Chevril, the wilderness camp conjures up an
image of alpine tranquillity. |
